Foot massage class in Chiang Mai
A great way to get into massages when you’ve never had the pleasure, is a foot massage. Unlike the more intimate setting of a Thai massage or oil massage, foot massages are in the open, and restrict themselves to the very lower part of your body. Taking a foot massage class is a great way to get into the whole pampering culture that is so Thai, plus it is the perfect gateway Thai massage, Oil massage or pressure point massages.
The latter was my eye-opening moment, as I found myself at an airport during a red-eye flight transfer. Tired and physically exhausted, an older lady applied her thumbs to the back of my skull, slowly working her way down along my spine. This pressure-point massage felt like electricity dancing up and down my spine, and let me tell you – if you never had a good massage, you don’t know what you are missing out on!
Khun Kloy, the owner of the massage school, first learned the art of Northern Thai (Lanna) style massage back in 1994 at the age of 15 years old in Lamphun province from her mother. Over the years, she managed to create an environment with Sabai De Ka Massage School where students will find a relaxing atmosphere where you can learn and practice your technique at the same time – it’s fun.
