Chiang Mai night Safari
Opened way back in 2006, the Chiang Mai night Safari was the firs Zoo of its kind in Thailand, combining the cooler temperatures of the night, in a more intimate setting to familiarize yourself with a variety of wild animals.
Think of giraffes, zebras and other animals that your children have heard about countless times. Only this time around, you and your children will get to feed and interact with these beautiful creatures in the broadest sense of the word.
The Chiang Mai Night Safari has been compared to a similar concept in Singapore, but reviews suggest the Chiang Mai one is infinitely better. I’ve come across visitors reporting eager giraffes poking their heads inside the tram, creating some very funny situations you will remember for a very long time. If you are traveling with kids, this is one of the must-see experiences in- and around Chiang Mai for sure.
Since this is a night activity, your pictures may not turn out as beautiful as your regular daytime pictures but other than that, this tour is highly recommended. There are two tram tours, and there are regular shows featuring local entertainers with a variety of impressive acts. On top of that, visitors will get to see close to a 100 different species, with many of them up close. The porcupines were a personal highlight for me since I never actually saw one before and we were all surprised at their size and the length of their spines.
